Hi,
My name is Lois. I’m an illustrator and object artist working in publishing and fine art. I devote most of my time printing colors and form in different media and to various commissioned works. Since 2019 I am working as a freelancer at Rotopol, a publisher of graphic storytelling.
My first subject was literature, which I completed with a thesis on the the influence of color in painting on the work of poets around 1900. It was only after this degree that I studied illustration. For me, the two subjects are directly linked and for my final project in illustration I designed a series of book covers for short stories by classic writers.
I grew up with five sisters and a dog named Sir Henry in a small town in northern Germany.
When I'm not drawing or writing, I enjoy being in nature, canoeing or testing out cooking recipes. Lately I’ve been enjoying try my hand at ceramics.
